Through the story of her Auntie Maggie, Jenn shares her own family’s lived experiences of colonization and residential schools—offering an emotional and powerful window into resilience and survival.

Explore what reconciliation can mean on a personal level, and how to take meaningful steps forward with humility and responsibility.

MEET YOUR MENTOR
Jenn Smith
Jenn Smith is a proud member of the Tlowitsis First Nation, a Culturally Committed Advisor, and a seasoned educator with over 25 years of experience working in and alongside First Nations communities.
She holds a Master’s in Health Leadership from Royal Roads University and has been guiding health professionals, educators, and organizations across British Columbia through cultural safety education for the past 7 years.
Jenn’s teachings are rooted in traditional oral history and the knowledge passed down by her ancestors. Her gentle, storytelling approach invites learners to reflect, feel, and better understand their role in reconciliation.
