An invitation to gather, learn, and reflect together

Longhouse Experiential Workshop

April 25, 2026 | Stz’uminus Territory

A grounded, in-person learning experience rooted in relationship, reflection, and responsibility.

The Longhouse Experiential Workshop is an in-person gathering hosted by Culturally Committed in partnership with Len Pierre Consulting.

This workshop invites participants into a shared learning space grounded in Indigenous teachings and community-based practice. The day is intentionally designed to support reflection, conversation, and learning that goes beyond surface-level understanding.

Rather than a lecture or conference-style training, this gathering centres presence, relationship, and lived experience. Learning happens together, in place, through listening, reflection, and shared responsibility.

Participants are encouraged to come with openness, humility, and a willingness to listen and reflect.

This gathering may be for you if…

This workshop is designed for people who feel called to learn in a relational and thoughtful way, including:

  • Professionals working in community-facing roles

  • Individuals committed to learning with care and accountability

  • Those seeking deeper understanding through relationship and experience

This gathering may not be the right fit for everyone, and that’s okay. We encourage you to consider whether this learning space feels aligned for you at this time.

How the Day Will Unfold

Agenda | A Day of Learning, Reflection, and Relationship

This experiential workshop is designed as a full-day journey—one that honors place, story, and collective learning. We invite you to arrive with openness, care, and respect for the land and community hosting us.

12:00 PM — Welcome & Cultural Opening

We begin the day with a cultural welcome and opening led by George Harris Sr. of Stz’uminus First Nation, grounding us in place and purpose.

12:30 PM — Shared Lunch

Lunch will be provided by Andrew Sampson, offering nourishment as part of the experience and an opportunity to connect informally with fellow participants.

1:30–4:00 PM —The Box & The Circle | Experiential Learning Workshop

The Box and The Circle is an experiential learning model developed by Dr. Jann Derrick. It is used to illustrate the contrasting social systems and values between Western-colonial and Indigenous worldviews.

  • The Box represents Western, non-Indigenous societal structures and ways of organizing

  • The Circle embodies Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing

At Len Pierre Consulting, this model is offered as an interactive, embodied learning experience to deepen understanding of how these worldviews shape relationships, leadership, and organizational systems—particularly in the context of cultural safety, reconciliation, and decolonization.

You'll participate in to a 60-minute facilitated physical activity, followed by a 30-minute reflective circle discussion.

We recognize that experiential and heart-centered learning can bring up strong emotions and invite vulnerability beyond typical professional settings. Participants are always welcome to opt out of the physical activity if needed. Care, consent, and respect for individual boundaries are central to how this space is held.

Activation / Content Notice

This gathering explores lived and historical experiences of colonization, including the apprehension of children, substance use, poverty, and death. These topics may be activating or emotionally heavy for some participants. We invite you to consider your own readiness and to care for yourself in whatever ways you may need throughout the day.
This experience is not recommended for children under the age of 16. Support people and quiet space will be available on site.
